Due to the constantly evolving research content of our research assistants, we do not provide a list of prepared tasks here, but rather encourage students to take the initiative and engage in mutual exchange. If you are interested in a student research project, please first take a look at the list of our current research topics and consider which of the following working groups best match your interests:
- Flood protection, coastal and estuarine dynamics
- Ecohydraulics and ecosystem services
- Maritime and offshore technologies
- Marine engineering and construction logistics
You can then contact us by mentioning one of these working group titles on the official form from the Dean's Office (German/English), where you can also indicate alternative topic preferences (mentioning several working groups will slow down the internal allocation process). If you have any general questions about supervising student theses, please contact our chair.

All student assignments have a processing time of 6 months. The planned workload within this period is determined by the associated credit points (CP).

It is important to note that the page numbers are guidelines and exceeding or falling short of them will not affect the grade as long as the content of the thesis justifies the length. This should be discussed with the respective supervisors if necessary.
