Successful defense of the doctoral dissertation by Dr.-Ing. Jan Tiede

We congratulate Dr. Jan Tiede on passing his doctoral examination. The topic of his dissertation was “From storm-scale dynamics to multi-decadal evolution of sand nourishments along the Baltic Sea coast.”

On April 15, 2026, Dr.-Ing. Jan Tiede presented the results of his dissertation.

The examination committee was composed as follows: The proceedings were chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingo Neumann (LUH). Prof. Dr.-Ing. Torsten Schlurmann (LUH) served as the first examiner, and the second review was prepared by Prof. Dr. Christian Winter (CAU). Prof. Dr. sc. nat. ETH Insa Neuweiler (LUH) served as the third member of the committee.
